We are pleased to extend an invitation to you to attend the Preqin India in Focus 2022 webinar on Thursday, 29 September 2022 at 11:00 IST / 13:30 SGT.

Sanket Sinha, Executive Director & Global Head of Asset Management for Lighthouse Canton will join panelists from Everstone Group, IIFL Asset Management, Edelweiss Private Equity and CPPIB to explore and discuss the trends around fundraising, deals and exits in India.

‍As of September 2021, total assets under management (AUM) for India-based private capital funds was a record $71bn, doubling in five years. Private equity and venture capital are the largest asset classes, with a combined AUM of $41bn, 27% higher year on year. Other asset classes have also expanded. India-based private debt AUM more than tripled within five years, and the current infrastructure AUM of $7.4bn is 2.5x that of 2017’s. On the other hand, India-based real estate AUM has dipped slightly by 2% from December 2020.

‍This session will cover the questions below and more:

  • Will the other private capital asset classes generate returns and provide much needed protection for investors in the current economic environment?

  • How will India’s private capital industry stay resilient amid the uncertainties in the broader global economy?

  • How does India compare to other countries in the region?
